MISRA Technical Report, Verification and Validation Published in February 1995, this report is a summary of the findings of one of the aspects of the MISRA study leading to the 1994 MISRA Development Guidelines. A modern vehicle will be made up of many subsystems, some of which will use software. This report presents the verification and validation activities that should be performed upon these component subsystems, especially the software subsystems, and upon the vehicle as a whole. These verification and validation activities are presented in the order that they would normally be applied when adhering to a typical lifecycle. Specific methods and techniques are expanded upon in individual appendices. Provided for historical reference and interest; ISO 26262 is now considered "state of the art"
